Doug began his career in 1997 working for another DJ business as one of their DJ’s working at a bar called Hammers. Before he became a DJ, Doug was quite shy and awkward in conversations. He had just moved to the Southside of Atlanta and needed to find something to do besides selling pools at a local pool store. His brother-in-law Steve “Wildman” Robinson had been DJing for almost 20 years at this point and wanted Doug to get out of the house and come to the club with him. Doug began going regularly with Steve. Steve was Doug’s first mentor in the business. Steve was going on vacation and needed someone to cover his shifts at Hammers and he asked Doug to step in and cover him. Doug reluctantly agreed and thus began his journey into what would define him for most of his life. It was at this little bar that Doug was given his DJ moniker by his fellow DJ / Mentors in the business. It was also here that Doug began to truly love music. He liked it before, but because the bar was next to Atlanta Hartsfield Airport, people came from all over and would request songs they loved. Because of this, Doug began to really dig in to build his repertoire and understanding of music. He made it a point to learn about all forms of music. He didn’t want to pigeonhole himself into being only a certain type of DJ specializing in only certain genres. Doug established himself as a popular local DJ in the club / bar scene on the Southside of Atlanta. As with many things in life, working for someone else wasn’t the route that life would have Doug lead. He started his first company, DJ Rock Entertainment in 2001 and began doing private parties and trivia. It was in this arena that Doug really began to shine as a DJ.
It was also during this time that Doug realized that weddings were something that he truly loved and would be a mainstay love for him in the various iterations of his companies. The thought of sending two people off on their lives together and being a part of the most intimate moments of two lives becoming one, is something that he takes very seriously. When a couple chooses you to be the entertainment for their very special day, it is something truly special. This is not lost on him and he goes well above and beyond to make sure that the vision that the couple have created in their minds is exactly what they get on the day they become one.
After a couple of years, DJ Rock Entertainment began doing different types of shows and seeing the trend, Doug took DJ Rock Entertainment and created D.R.E. Promotions. Doug built D.R.E. Promotions into a formidable company in the entertainment industry on the Southside. This iteration of the evolution of Doug lasted until 2016 when Doug decided it was a time for a change and developed the next phase of his continually evolving career. Taking everything he had learned over the years, and finding new opportunities to expand upon the original idea of DJ Rock Entertainment, Doug created another company that quickly took off like a rocket. As much of a rocket ship as this new company was, there are inevitably bumps that show up in the road. Doug transitioned again in 2018 to create the next, and most exciting phase of his career with the company you see now. Phoenix Live Entertainment was created on April 24th. The reason for the name Phoenix is because, like most of his career, Doug had always been evolving and trying to better himself as a person, as a DJ, and now because of where he was in his life, a better husband and father. Every incarnation of his various companies was meant to be better than the last. And this is something that if you look at his history, Doug embraced because each time he changed, he became better than he was before. If you think the last 21 years of his career were exciting, just wait until you see the trajectory of this next phase.
In conjunction with Phoenix Live Entertainment, Doug became the in-game DJ / Music Programmer for the Atlanta Braves in 2017. In this position, Doug “DJ Rock” Sheets was able to claim over 3.5 million entertained by the end of 2017. By the end of 2018, he should be well over 5 million people entertained by the music being played by this veteran of the DJ game.
Doug is a 21+ year veteran of the DJ business. He has serviced clients from all over the Southeast. He is not just our fearless leader, but he is also the Music Programmer / In-game DJ for the Atlanta Braves. Doug started his career in 1997 in a popular South Atlanta bar where he was ultimately given his DJ name DJ Rock and transitioned to mobile private events from the bar scene. He quickly established himself as one of the best in the local event scene. He continues to transform and reinvent himself over the years to be a better husband, father, and DJ. If you know Doug, you know that he has a passion for this business and loves every aspect of the business that has defined his professional career.

Phoenix Feud
Phoenix Feud is a team geared show that follows the same style of flow as the popular TV game show with a similar name. We ask a series of opinion-based question and based upon the popularity of the team’s answer, their point values can vary. This is dependent upon the number of individuals that responded with that answer. This game differs from the standard trivia game in that the answers aren’t really google type answers, they are opinion. Cheating is out the window. That has always been one the biggest concerns with trivia-based games.
